Stephen Eaton

Stephen Eaton joined Craigs Investment Partners Havelock North Branch in November 2025 following the acquisition of Somerset Smith Partners, a respected Hawke’s Bay investment advisory firm. He brings over 20 years’ experience as an Investment Adviser, and a strong track record in the financial services industry.

Stephen brings extensive governance experience, including a 17-year tenure as Chief Executive of Perpetual Guardian, responsible for $12b of client assets. He also served as trustee and director for various organisations, including the state-owned enterprise MetService.

He specialises in providing tailored investment advice and portfolio management services to private clients, families, and charitable trusts. Stephen’s extensive experience enables him to provide advice on a wide range of domestic and international investment options, including fixed interest securities and equities.

Beyond his professional commitments, Stephen has been an active member of his local Rotary Club for more than 20 years, reflecting his commitment to community service.

Stephen is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) and Institute of Finance Professionals (INFINZ).
