Community Foundations of New Zealand
We’re a founding principal sponsor of the Community Foundations of New Zealand (CFNZ), an umbrella organisation for 17 community foundations throughout New Zealand. Community Foundations are set up to encourage personal philanthropy at a local level, enhancing community well-being and sustainability. For charities that target specific needs, such as child poverty, our CFNZ involvement allows us to provide indirect benefit to communities across the country. Craigs has supported the Acorn Foundation in Tauranga from its inception in the early 2000’s.
Craigs Community Fund
The Craigs Community Fund (CCF) was established in 2019 with the goal to build a charitable fund over the next 10-15 years for us to give to our local communities continuously. The establishment of the Craigs Community Fund to support communities in a more structured manner, was a natural progression from the local partnership with Acorn Foundation and the Craigs Community Fund was established based on a similar ethos. The vision is to build a Fund that is large enough to donate back to our communities well into the future.
In 2023, we once again donated $150,000 to local communities throughout New Zealand, taking our annual community support to over $1 million. We understand the importance of assisting local charities and communities who need our support now, more than ever before.

Cyclone relief support
Craigs’ donation to the Mātai Tairāwhiti Relief Fund in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle has been used to provide immediate on-the-ground support to residents and community organisations in Tairawhiti Gisborne. Mātai volunteers and Craigs advisers assisted with clean-up efforts, delivery of essential items and door-knocking to check on families in the area. Funds were provided to a range of local community organisations severely affected by the cyclone to help them get back on their feet.
