James Butchers

James Butchers joined the Investment Banking team in August 2025, following 10 years with Goldman Sachs New Zealand in Auckland.

He leads the firm’s ECM strategy, advising corporate clients on IPOs, follow-on raisings, block trades, share buybacks, DRPs, and shareholder engagement.

James has provided strategic advice to both publicly listed and private clients across a range of cross-border and domestic M&A, public market takeover response and public-to-private transactions, as well as capital structure, valuations, and strategic reviews.
