Craigs appoints Mel Dyer as Chief People Officer

Craigs Investment Partners (Craigs) has appointed experienced people and culture leader Melanie (Mel) Dyer as Chief People Officer.

Mel joins Craigs from Port of Tauranga Limited, where her deep expertise in leadership and organisational development supported strategic growth and a commitment to operational excellence through the challenges of Covid-19 and the subsequent economic downturn.

“Mel brings extensive experience supporting organisations through change while strengthening culture, capability and performance”
Craigs’ chief executive Simon Tong

Prior to this, Mel was General Manager People and Culture at Trustpower, and her experience spans more than 20 years across industries in New Zealand and Australia.

Craigs’ Chief Executive Simon Tong says Mel’s people-focused leadership style and depth of experience make her a strong fit for the firm.

“Mel brings extensive experience supporting organisations through change while strengthening culture, capability and performance,” says Tong. “Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to invest in our people and build the culture needed to support our long-term strategy.”

Mel is a respected leader in her field and an active member of the Tauranga community. She is Board Chair for the EMA, a member of Global Women, and a former board member of the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Tauranga.

Mel will join Craigs in June. Mel’s role replaces Head of People and Performance Angie Smith, who departs in April.
