Collaboration agreement between Barrenjoey and Craigs Investment Partners 

Barrenjoey and Craigs Investment Partners have entered into an agreement to establish long-term commercial arrangements between the businesses. 

Barrenjoey New Zealand will provide ongoing equities research and financial markets trading and execution services to Craigs Investment Partners’ Wealth business and will welcome experienced and talented people from Craigs Investment Partners into Barrenjoey New Zealand across Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and support functions, alongside other areas of co-operation between the businesses.  

Craigs CEO Simon Tong said Craigs’ strategy to evolve its corporate and institutional business and delivering benefits for its core private wealth management clients were drivers for an agreement.

“This is a positive move for our corporate team and clients, enhancing our capabilities through a leading Australasian platform. The collaboration enables Craigs continued focus on delivering for our Private Wealth clients through leading research, execution, and investment opportunities through Barrenjoey New Zealand.”

Importantly, the transaction will introduce a further senior and experienced founder to the Barrenjoey New Zealand leadership team, Justin Queale, the current CEO of the Craigs Corporate and Institutional business.  Justin will assume the role of Executive Chair of Barrenjoey New Zealand.   

Three of New Zealand’s most experienced individuals in financial services, Justin Queale, Dan Reynolds and Silvana Schenone, will lead Barrenjoey New Zealand.  

Dan will lead the Financial Markets business activities in New Zealand and associated support functions, while Justin and Silvana will lead the Corporate Finance business. Justin will also be responsible for the relationship with Craigs Investment Partners’ Wealth business.
