Craigs Investment PartnersThe New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport, is thrilled to announce that major tournament partner, Craigs Investment Partners, is once again bringing generosity to the greens with its Birdies for Charity initiative.
This year as part of Craigs Investment Partners ‘Golf for Good’ programme, every birdie made on every hole throughout the tournament will translate into real support for two remarkable charities – Cure Kids and the Acorn Foundation.
For every birdie scored across all four days of the tournament, Craigs Investment Partners will donate $10 into a charitable pool which will be equally shared between the two charities. With previous tournaments recording between 1,800 and 3,000 birdies, the potential for impact is huge!
This year, the initiative is even bigger with members of the public having the opportunity to get involved by making their own contributions to Craigs Birdies for Charity. There are two ways to donate; either txt ‘Birdies’ to 2256 for an instant $3 donation or scan the QR code to donate an amount of choice via the Birdies for Charity Givealittle page.
New Zealand Open Chairman John Hart is excited about the initiative’s return, believing it will add even more energy and enthusiasm to the tournament.
“This is such a fantastic way to add something extra to the tournament.”
“Every birdie made adds more excitement to both the professional and pro-am tournaments, and also drives real support for two incredible charities.”
Jeremy Williamson, Head of Private Wealth and Markets for Craigs Investment Partners, is equally passionate about creating positive change through sport.
“Birdies for Charity is a win-win for everyone – players, fans, and most importantly, the charities we’re supporting. It’s a great way to harness the energy of the tournament for a greater cause. We can’t wait to see players rise to the challenge and the public get behind this incredible initiative,” says Williamson.
Cure Kids CEO Frances Soutter shared her appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the lasting impact it will have on child health research. “We’re absolutely delighted to be part of Craigs Birdies for Charity. Every birdie supports research on the big health issues which impact the lives of our Tamariki. This is an amazing opportunity for the wider community to make a real difference,” says Soutter.
Acorn Foundation CEO Lori Luke is equally enthusiastic about the positive ripple effect the campaign will create. “The Birdies for Charity campaign is a brilliant example of how sport and philanthropy can come together to create lasting impact. The funds raised will directly support Acorn’s Vital Impact Fund, which this year is supporting organisations doing critical work in the food rescue and support space in the Western Bay of Plenty, the location of Craigs Investment Partners’ head office,” says Luke.
The Craigs Investment Partners Birdies for Charity initiative is a big part of the New Zealand Open’s increasing focus on giving back to communities and proving golf can be a powerful force for good.
