Craigs opens Wānaka branch

Leading wealth management firm Craigs Investment Partners has opened a branch in Wānaka, giving locals greater access to personalised wealth management services and strengthening the firm’s existing connections with the community.

“Wānaka is Craigs’ twentieth branch and our eighth in the South Island,” says Craigs’ Head of Private Wealth and Markets Jeremy Williamson.

“Our growing network of local branches reflects the strong demand for the personalised approach to wealth management that Craigs offers, tailored to clients’ unique circumstances and underpinned by strong client-adviser relationships fostered through shared local connections.”

While Craigs’ branch at 13 Sir Tim Wallis Drive is new, the firm’s connections with the Wānaka community are longstanding. Investment Adviser Paul Gardner, who joins from Craigs’ Queenstown branch, has lived locally for 12 years. Craigs has been a proud supporter of the Aspiring Art Prize for over 15 years, is a sponsor of the Wānaka Golf Club and Wānaka Tennis Club and is a major sponsor of the NZ Open golf tournament in the region.

Williamson says bringing together an experienced investment team for the region was a priority. “The doors may have just opened but the three investment advisers servicing clients in the region combine more than 60 years of financial services experience and are outstanding professionals. Our clients place a great deal of trust in us to manage their wealth in a manner that aligns with their values and enables their life goals. We are pleased to offer a team with the breadth of experience to advise on all aspects of personalised wealth management, including helping clients achieve their financial goals and supporting them through significant life transitions such as retirement,” says Williamson.

Alongside Paul Gardner, established Craigs’ Investment Adviser Haley Van Leeuwen is based at the branch. The pair are joined by Aaron Shearer, who has recently returned from 17 years working in Sydney, New York and London.

“Paul has a strong background in corporate finance and capital markets in Europe, the US, and New Zealand. Haley has extensive governance experience and specialises in working with charitable trusts, private clients and boards. Aaron joins us from a London-based alternative investment manager and brings specialist experience in international tax.  They are a great team who will do very well for our clients” says Williamson.

Local advisers combine individual client objectives with insights from one of New Zealand’s largest and most respected private wealth research teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients. Craigs, which was founded in 1984, also boasts highly regarded investment banking and institutional equities teams. It is this combination of local service backed by deep connections in the New Zealand market and global access through strategic partnerships such as J.P. Morgan Asset Management that sets Craigs apart, says Williamson.

Locals interested in learning more about how Craigs can support them to achieve their goals through personalised wealth management are welcome to visit the branch for an obligation free conversation.
