We have launched our redesigned client portal with a fresh new look and a host of new features. This is the first step in the ongoing improvements we are working on to enable us to offer up-to-date digital services now and in the future.

Portfolio summary information and chat


There is a range of new features to make the portal easier to use, including improved readability and better responsive design, so the portal will work as efficiently on your mobile as on your desktop.

We also have helpful features such as information icons throughout the portal to click on for help when you need it and the option to start an online chat with the customer services team.


The technology upgrade that we carried out last year means we can now provide real-time data for KiwiSaver, Superannuation and mySTART portfolios. This means the data you see on the portal is correct at the time you visit. We are working on getting this for our other portfolio types.

It is even easier to keep track of your selected portfolios with the simpler portal dashboard.

Just click the box next to the account name to select or unselect a portfolio. This will update the total at the top of the page, the asset details and the value over time information.

We listened to your feedback and have included a value over time chart that updates according to the portfolios you select at the top of the dashboard page. This is to give you a better overview of how your selected portfolios are tracking over your selected timeframe.


The contributions and withdrawals chart shows you any contributions and withdrawals in NZD for the portfolios you select at the top of the dashboard page during the chosen time frame. It helps to interpret some of the changes in the value over time of your portfolios.

Each of your portfolios has a page of information and features specific to that portfolio, including your holdings. This is to give a quick overview, you can still access more detailed information in the Reports section.

If you have access to a KiwiSaver, Superannuation or mySTART portfolio, it is easier than ever to keep up-to-date with these portfolios. You can view your holdings, direct debits, orders, order history and investment direction. You can access these pages from the Quick Links on the dashboard, or in the menu under portfolio summary.

What these changes mean for you

To help you use the new look client portal we have included some answers to commonly asked questions.

Yes you can. Follow these steps:

  1. Find out your Client ID by clicking this link, where you will be asked for some details then be sent your Client ID to your registered email address.
  2. Once you have your Client ID, you can set your password by clicking here.
  3. Visit to login with your Client ID and password.

You login exactly the same as before, using your Client ID and password. If you cannot remember your Client ID, you can visit our Forgot Client ID page to get it sent to your registered email address.

Yes, as well as a lot more useful information such as value over time charts and returns over time for individual portfolios.

If you have a KiwiSaver, Superannuation or mySTART portfolio, it is easier than ever to keep up-to-date with these portfolios. You will be able to view your holdings, direct debits, orders, order history and investment direction.

For the most detailed information, generate a report in the same Reports section as before.

Yes, these will remain as they were before the change to the client portal.

As we transition to new technology, clients with KiwiSaver, Superannuation and mySTART portfolios use real time data and all others use data from the previous business day. This means in order to ensure accurate information is provided, we now show your holdings in each portfolio summary section.

Your investment direction is made up of the securities you chose for your contributions to be invested in each month if you are in a Scheme. The status if your investment direction is important:

Active – any cash in your portfolio is directed to your investment direction

Not set – you do not have an investment direction

Inactive – you had an investment direction, but requested to stop it for a period of time

Paused – you have some other buy orders that you would like the cash in your portfolio to be used for, instead of your investment direction.

You may see orders in your KiwiSaver, Superannuation or mySTART portfolios that have different statuses. These are to give an indication of the progress of your order and if you need to take any action.

Pending – this order is waiting to be authorised and released to trade.

Awaiting cash – this order needs cash before it can be progressed. This could mean there is not enough cash in the portfolio or that a foreign exchange order or another sale needs to be completed first.

In progress – the order is in progress and will be completed once all stages are complete.

Change requested – a change to this order has been requested.

Cancel requested – a cancellation of this order has been requested.
