Client Portal access

To register for the Client Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Register now link on the login page.
  2. You will be directed to the Account Registration Form. Please ensure that you enter your full name and registered email address.
  3. Make a note of your unique 6 digit username.
  4. Enter and confirm your password. Your password needs to be comprised of a minimum of 8 characters, containing at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 digit.
  5. Select to receive an identity validation message by email or text message.
  6. To confirm your identity:
    1. By email - click the validation link in your email from Craigs Investment Partners
    2. By text message - enter the validation code from your text message
  7. You will be redirected to the login page to enter your username and password.

This is most likely because you registered a while ago and have forgotten, or you were using our old website and haven’t logged in for a long time. To access the Client Portal, click Forgot Username? link, complete the steps outlined below then click Forgot Password? link and complete the steps outlined below.

  1. Reset your password by clicking on the Forgot Password? link on the login page. 1
  2. Enter your first name, last name, registered email address and select to receive an identity validation message by email or text message.
  3. To confirm your identity:
  4. By email - click the validation link in your email from Craigs Investment Partners
  5. By text message - enter the validation code from your text message
  6. Your new password needs to be comprised of a minimum of 8 characters, containing at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 digit.
  7. You will then be redirected to the login page to enter your username and new password.
  1. Retrieve your username by clicking on the Forgot Username? link on the login page. 2
  2. Complete the form by entering your first name, last name and registered email address.
  3. You will then receive an email reminding you of your username.

My Portfolio Dashboard

Your personalised portfolio Dashboard provides an at a glance overview of your investment portfolio. It allows you to see the value of individual or combined portfolios and then drill down into asset classes and holdings.

You can export the information on your Dashboard at the Portfolio, Asset Details or Holdings levels to Excel or a similar programme by selecting the .csv icon at the top of the applicable table.

The prices displayed on the Dashboard page are those available to Craigs at the close of the previous business day and are intended to be a quick snapshot of portfolio value. 

The prices and therefore valuations included in the web reports are updated more frequently. Therefore, there may be differences between prices and valuations on the Dashboard page and those included in your reports.  For confirmation of holdings and valuations please refer to your reports.

In creating the new Client Portal we identified the features clients most frequently use and concentrated our efforts on improving these sections. Portfolio Builder and Alerts were two rarely used features and subsequently we have retired these.

If you wish to keep a record of holdings or assets or receive notifications of price changes or announcements relating to specific securities, you will now need to recreate this on an alternative website such as Google Finance.

How do I generate a web report?

  1. Click Reports in the main navigation bar
  2. Go to the Generate a Report tab
  3. Choose the portfolio that you would like to view a report on by selecting it from the Select your Portfolio dropdown list.
  4. The date of the previous day will be displayed in the Choose End Date field. If you would like to change this date type your chosen date in this box following the DD/MM/YY format or select the Calendar icon
  5. Select the Generate button.
  6. Your report will begin generating and will be displayed when it is ready, alternatively the report can also be found by selecting the All Reports tab on the Reports page.
  1. Click Reports in the main navigation bar
  2. Go to the All Reports tab where you can view the web reports that you have generated in the last 5 days and view all the reports distributed to you by Craigs in the last two years.

Please note:

  • Managed clients have access to a number of reports providing an overview of your portfolio position.
  • START clients can view their Holdings Statements, Contributions and Withdrawals Summary and a Portfolio Summary.

How do I check the performance of an index?

  1. Click Markets in the main navigation bar
  2. On the Indices tab you can quickly check the performance of the top indices or select a regional overview of Asia-Pacific, North America or Europe from the Select Index Category dropdown list.

Please note – Market data on other indices can be found by performing a Quote Search from the navigation. For step-by-step instructions see ‘How do I perform a Quote Search’ below.

  1. Click Markets in the main navigation bar
  2. On the World Currencies tab you can quickly check the performance of key New Zealand dollar (NZD) and US dollar (USD) currencies pairs.

Please note – Market data on other currency pairs can be found by performing a Quote Search from the navigation. For step-by-step instructions see ‘How do I perform a Quote Search’ below.

Quote Search allows you to search for market data on securities (shares and fixed interest), indices and currencies directly from the navigation bar.

  1. Begin to enter a search term in the Quote Search field, located in the navigation bar. 1
  2. You will see an automatically populated list of the available market data matches. 2
Select the security, index or currency to display and the market details will display or Show All Results to see a full list.

How do I search for a Research article?

  1. Click Research in the main navigation bar
  2. Begin to enter a search term in the Enter search keywords field and you will see an automatically populated list of the available research.
  3. You will then be taken to the Advanced Search page where your search can be refined by publication type, sector, date and keyword. Alternatively, you can enter another search term.
  4. The page will display details about the security including the Private Wealth Research View.
  5. Scroll down to see the list of returned Search Results.
  6. You can add these to your reading list or view as a pdf document.

If you select the Manage subscription button on the Research page you will be taken to the Manage my Subscriptions page.

In the Publications section, you can subscribe to our eNewsletters, product updates and publications or change your preferred method of communication. You can choose to unsubscribe to a publication at any time by selecting Unsubscribe from the dropdown list.

In the Follow Research section, you can choose to receive a daily email highlighting any research published that matches your chosen sector, report type or security/company of interest:

  • Choose a sector, report type or security/company of interest from the dropdown list and select the Add button.
  • If you would no longer like to follow this research, select the Remove icon.

By selecting the Reading List icon next to an item on the Research Homepage or in the Latest Research it will be added to your Reading List. Your Reading List can be found on the Research Homepage.

How do I update my contact details?

Your contact details can be updated by selecting My Profile > My Details. You may be prompted with further steps to complete your contact details update, e.g. you will need to provide us with a proof of address if you update your residential address.

You can change your password by selecting My Profile > Change Password. You will be required to enter your old password before entering a new password and confirming the new password.

What is the Watchlist?

The Watchlist allows you to create a list of securities you wish to track on an ongoing basis. Each time you visit, your Watchlist is updated and is ready to view at a glance. You can add and remove securities at any time.

  1. To add an item to your Watchlist type your request into the Enter search here field and select the Add button.
  2. You can reorder your Watchlist be selecting the up/ down arrow.
  3. An item can be removed from your Watchlist by selecting the Remove icon.

Market data for a security on your Watchlist can be easily viewed by selecting the Market Data icon.

Yes, all Watchlist data was transferred from our old Client Portal to the new one on the 16th November 2016.

In creating the new Client Portal we identified the features clients most frequently use and concentrated our efforts on improving these sections. Conversely, one feature that was rarely used by clients is the Watchlists feature and therefore we have modified it so that clients have one Watchlist.

If you wish to keep additional Watchlists, you will now need to recreate these on an alternative website such as Google Finance.

The transfer of Watchlist data, from our old Client Portal to the new one occurred on the 16th November 2016. Therefore, any changes to your Watchlist between 17th November 2016 and 22nd November 2016 would not have been transferred across o the new Client Portal. You will need to re-enter this information.
