Murray Birkett joined Craigs Investment Partners in 1991 and has held Management positions within the company.  Prior to this, Murray gained extensive experience in Accounting and Management within the Private Sector. He is currently an Investment Adviser.

Tristan Hewett joined Craig’s Investment Partners as an Investment Adviser in April 2017. Previously, he’d spent 9 years working for ANZ Bank (NZ) Ltd in various roles ranging from Rural Manager to Branch Manager. During that time, he handled all his client’s financial requirements.

Tristan advises clients on all aspects of equity investments, specializing in portfolio management for private clients, family trusts and Kiwisaver. Tristan was awarded ANZ CEO Recognition in 2012 and was Agri-Business Manager of the year 2011 and 2012. Tristan is currently a member of Tauranga Primary School Board of Trustees.

Andrew is an Authorised Financial Adviser who joined Craigs Investment Partners in 1993. Andrew has been Tauranga Branch Manager, Regional Manager for the Group and in July 2010, returned to a full time advisory role within the Tauranga branch.

Andrew utilises his all round advisory and management skills to partner with clients to build investment solutions and help achieve their goals. Andrew maintains an active role in the community where he is a board member of the Aquinas College Sports Academy, a supporter of Waipuna Hospice, Tauranga Boys’ College Old Boys’ Association and Tauranga Garden and Arts Festival.

In his spare time Andrew enjoys travelling with his wife and adult children, is a keen follower of most sports and outdoor activities including hockey, rugby, fishing and general fitness, while maintaining a handicap as a member of the Tauranga Golf Club.

Hamish joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2000 as an Equities dealer. After working in the United Kingdom for UBS Warburg and Bank of New York (2004-2006), Hamish returned to New Zealand to join the Tauranga Branch as an Investment Adviser along with managing the branch up until 2012.

Hamish now focuses on advising clients on all aspects of equity and fixed interest investments, specializing in investment strategy and portfolio management. He works with clients to help them achieve their long-term investment objectives while managing the risks associated with investing. Everyday Hamish interacts with a broad range of clients from private, family trusts to corporates, charities and estates.

Outside of work Hamish enjoys spending time with his family, running, kiteboarding and golf.

Originally from Melbourne, Bridget Cummins has worked in the finance industry for over 15 years. Previous employers include Citibank in London, Perpetual Trustees in Melbourne and BZW Equities New Zealand (now ABN AMRO) in Auckland.

Bridget is married with one young son. She loves living in the sunny Bay of Plenty and also likes to travel to Melbourne to catch up with family and friends. In her spare time she enjoys tramping, both locally and in the South Island. She is also a keen tennis and squash player.

Annemarie joined Craigs Investment Partners as an Investment Adviser in January 2016. Annemarie has over 10 years experience in financial services across banking and investment management. Prior to joining Craigs, she was an Investment Adviser with JBWere (NZ) Pty Ltd.

Outside of work, Annemarie enjoys spending time with her family at Mount Maunganui. She is also a keen runner, an active member of the Mount Maunganui Squash Club, and an associate member of the Returned Services Association (RSA).

Ruth joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2000, after four years as an investment adviser with Westpac Trust. She has extensive experience in the banking industry, spanning more than 20 years.

Ruth likes running, walking and going to the gym – and says she needs to stay fit for her active social life. She also enjoys 4WD driving, the muddier the better, and travels frequently to visit family members overseas.

Matthew Johanson joined Craigs Investment Partners as an Investment Adviser in 2006. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Matthew lived and worked in London and Dublin for six years. He worked for companies such as Deutsche Bank, UniCredito Italiano and Rabobank while in the United Kingdom and for ANZ Investment bank in the Corporate and Structured Finance sector in Auckland.

Katie Douglas-Clifford joined Craigs Investment Partners as an Investment Adviser in June 2016, she is an Authorised Financial Adviser. Katie has over 9 years experience in financial services across investment management and financial advice. Prior to joining Craigs, she was a KiwiSaver specialist with Fisher Funds. Katie’s area of focus is across KiwiSaver, Superannuation and Savings products, as well as corporate relationships.

Katie is passionate about KiwiSaver and wealth creation and is eager to engage and educate clients to support them on their journey towards financial success.

Guy Malthus joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2001. His career in the securities industry started in Hawke’s Bay, where he worked for Esam Cushing and Forsyth Barr. He also has extensive overseas experience, with UBS Warburg in England and Watson Wyatt in Canada.

During his stint in Canada, he learned to snowboard and still loves to get down to the mountains whenever possible. He also enjoys mountain biking and hiking.

John McCool joined Craigs Investment Partners as an Investment Adviser in October 2007.  He has over 20 years experience in the financial markets industry and most recently, he was a director of a small investment advisory business.  Prior to that he was with the National Bank for 17 years, where he was the Regional Manager for their Private Banking division. 

John's interests relate to everything the beautiful Bay of Plenty region has to offer.  He is keen on most sports, is very much an outdoors person and is also actively involved with the sporting pursuits of his family.

Jon joined the head office of Craigs Investment Partners in April 2007 and joined the Tauranga Advisory team in 2009.

Jon advises clients on all aspects of equity and fixed interest investments specialising in investment strategy and portfolio management. He works with clients to help them achieve their long-term investment objectives while managing the risks associated with investing.

Jon maintains an active role in the community as a trustee of the Tauranga Arts Festival and Waipuna Hospice Foundation as well as being a member of the local Angel investment group Enterprise Angels. Jon is also a Director of Virscient, a Hamilton based wireless connectivity firm with global clients.

In his spare time Jon enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and enjoying the beach. A keen sportsman, Jon enjoys a wide range of sports including rugby, cricket and tennis.

Richard Stevens joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2002, after working within the commercial and corporate banking division for the National Bank. He has also worked in the UK as an analyst for global investment firms, such as Tullett, Tokyo Liberty and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Richard enjoys the outdoors lifestyle in Tauranga, where he lives with his wife and family. A former senior rugby player, he now enjoys social sports, as well as travelling and experiencing different cultures.

Lawrence Young joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2013 after relocating to Tauranga with his wife and young family. Prior to moving to Tauranga, Lawrence was employed in the investment banking sector in London for five years undertaking prime brokerage roles at UBS, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse Securities. Prior to this he has held various positions within ANZ and National Bank treasury.

Gareth Hopkins joined Craigs Investment Partners as an Equities Dealer in 2013. He is an Authorised Financial Adviser providing sharebroking services to clients, and  is passionate about helping people work towards their financial goals.

Gareth joined Craigs fresh from a lengthy career as a professional sportsman. The former Blackcaps wicketkeeper and his wife Bernadette moved to the Bay of Plenty so their two young boys could enjoy the active seaside lifestyle on offer in Tauranga. Gareth coaches rep-level cricket, plays club football and enjoys supporting his kids as they try out a range of sports. On weekends, Gareth enjoys turning steaks on the barbecue, kayaking on Rangitaua Bay, and spending time with his large extended family.
